Eastern Region Chapter President of the Year, while Aleisha was recognized as an Outstanding Member of the East Region. Last but not least It was truly an honor to witness my NABA sisters, Andrea Barnett, CMA and Aleisha Ivey, CPA, receive well-deserved recognition for their outstanding contributions. These students touched down and received interviews and career changing opportunities. This could not of been done without our NNJ corporate partners: EisnerAmper, EY, Johnson and Johnson, Merck, Prudential, and Xero, and Dan Stubbs Rutgers Business School. It is very much appreciated!For the first time in many years NABA NNJ was able to sponsor 6 Student chapter leaders to New Orleans from NABA Rutgers Newark Chapter, TCNJ NABA, and our newly forming Chapter at Rutgers University - New Brunswick. Thank you to Guylaine Saint Juste for providing the chapter presidents, staff and committee that work tirelessly behind the scenes a platform to be recognized in front of all 2,000+ attendees. It is a pleasure to make the connection with these leaders and game changers all the way in South Africa. The Men of NABA (MONN) event featuring Hill Harper and Stedman Graham as they addressed building a network of unity among us men! Also I got to connect Linda Maqoma and the leaders of ABASA. As an entrepreneur Stacy Abrams reminded me to Learn from your failures: Learn the lesson not the losses. Carla Harris giving us a "NEWS FLASH people see your light before you do" as a reminder to step into our greatness. I would like to take this opportunity to highlight a couple of moments from the convention. The convention has left me with a wealth of new ideas and initiatives that I'm excited to explore and implement. Attending the NABA INC. nationals convention in New Orleans, LA was an inspiring, rewarding, and humbling experience for me. I am excited to announce that I have officially begun another term as the President of NABA Northern NJ . We met a woman named Iris, who became a NABA member in 1970, when Bill Aiken traveled out to North Carolina to start a NABA chapter at her college.
